As the medical director and CEO of newly bowed MEDICI Urgent Care and Wellness Center, Dr. Mboh Elango is dedicated to providing patients with a holistic, personalized experience. After facing a near-death experience with malaria as a child growing up in Cameroon, Elango was determined to make sure that no one else would meet such an end due to lack of access to quality and affordable healthcare. The board-certified emergency medical physician spent 13 years working on disease management in the ER before pivoting to “actually providing ‘health’ care,” he says. “We established the MEDICI Urgent Care and Wellness Centers to do just that.”

Indeed, MEDICI merges traditional Western medicine with other forms of healing such as massage, acupuncture, reiki, IV hydration and more to help patients feel balanced and well. “Curated specifically to bring wellness to mind, body and soul, we believe passionately in our holistic approach to wellness and health,” Elango explains. “Our goal is simple and captured by the Sanskrit phrase atithi devo Bhava: Treat every client or guest as a god.”

Elango, who completed his undergraduate, graduate and residency education in Atlanta, is now working to grow his innovative company to include two more locations in the next few years. But the physician’s reach extends far beyond our city. “We also launched the MEDICI Advisory Group to support and advocate for policies that improve healthcare delivery systems and emergency response systems, particularly in developing countries,” he shares. “I have always believed that the universe will conspire tirelessly to reward you for the good that you put into it.”
