I have known since I was about ten years old that I wanted to be a physician, but I didn’t know until I was in medical school that I wanted to be a surgeon,” says breast surgical oncologist Dr. Ryland J. Gore. “During surgery residency, I realized I could be a surgeon and still feed my love for women’s health. Going into breast just made sense.”

The board-certified, fellowship-trained surgeon is affiliated with Northside Hospital as a member of the North Atlanta Breast Care team, where she specializes in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of benign and cancerous breast cancers, as well as all breast-related disorders. “I’m so inspired by my patients, their stories, and their courage,” shares Gore, who prides herself on delivering compassionate care. “To be able to play such an integral part in a patient’s journey is very humbling and gratifying.”

Gore, a Georgia native who grew up in nearby Stone Mountain and completed her medical education at the Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM), is also a gifted public speaker (keep up with her on social media @rylandgoremd) who devotes her spare time to educating and informing the community about breast care and women’s health. “Caring for the women in this city is amazing because this is my city, and giving back to the community that raised me is its own reward,” she says.
